The Xec. 2025-2026: open for entries

The Xec. leadership scheme, developed by BME PR Pros, supported by Google UK, and delivered in partnership with PRovoke Media and the CIPR, will kick off its fifth year in September 2025.

The leadership scheme, the first for UK-based Black, Asian, Mixed Race and Ethnic Minority (BME) PR and comms pros, aims to create the next generation of BME leaders and to increase boardroom diversity client and agency-side.

Through a mix of training days, masterclasses and ‘My Career’ talks delivered by a diverse range of industry leaders, The Xec.’s fourth year will run from September 2025 to June 2026.

In addition, course participants will:

• Spend a day with the comms team and experts at Google
• Be allocated a BME PR Pros mentor
• Present at a PRovoke Media event
• Create and host a podcast episode
• Receive complimentary CIPR membership

Applicants need to have a minimum five years’ experience in PR and comms and must be at AD or Head Of level (title is less important).

Candidates offered a place must provide a completed and signed form from their line manager confirming they have secured support to attend the course and their employer will be expected to pay £400 towards costs (it costs nearly £3000 to provide each place on The Xec.).

Deadline for applications is 23:59 on Thursday 27 March 2025.
